Junior & Baumon's "Don't Listen Much" is the lead track of Gomma's upcoming compilation POP FUTURO. And yes: The songs sounds like a great pop song could sound in a few years from now. It was described by a journalist as a symbiosis of french melancholy, American wildness and a German electronic edge. In fact the trio consists of American singer/ songwriter Ian Fisher, French-German musician Fabian Kalker and Swiss producer Simon Baumann.

The story of the song sounds like the way a magic pop dream should evolve: Ian and Fabian met in Berlin and have been already writing songs together. But the magic moment happened when they met Simon. Simon, whose electronic tracks under the name of Mercury and Sirens of Lesbos have been released on big labels such as Defected, Gomma and Exploited was touched by their songs, but he thought that he could add something to them that would make them even more outstanding. More unique. He reworked Don't Listen Much - and what came out is kind of magic.

Ian's wondeful voice (that reminds a bit the coy charm of Harry Nilsson and the reptilian smirk of a Mark Bolan) combined with Fabian's skills as avant pop songwriter and Simon's brilliant way of retouching it with his electronic instruments created something that touches people deeply. In fact in the first place the guys had done an extended version of this song. They wanted to see people's reactions and had put it out on Soundcloud. For fun. With no promotional effort. But people fell in love with it and picked it up. And...it became a hit. Almost 500.000 plays on several Soundcloud and Youtube channels for the older original, very different version of it. So the guys felt confirmed in their music vision and made a new, short, much different version of Don't listen much and offered it to Gomma. And so here it is. The new short version - and the older long club variations. Feel the magic!
