Gomma Records presents the first solo project of LCD Soundsystem’s singer Nancy Whang: An EP with 5 reworks of big songs from the magic Casablanca Records catalogue. Now reworked and re-produced by Nancy and some of the most intersting producers of today's electronic scene: AUDIOJACK, THE REVENGE, DROP OUT ORCHESTRA, ETIENNE DE CRECY, BONAR BRADBERRY (PBR Streetgang).

Nancy Whang is maybe the most heared voice in the new Disco scene. Besides being a main member in James Murphy’s LCD Soundsystem she also has been featured on singles by Soulwax, Juan MacLean and Classixx.

They reworked songs of Donna Summer (Working the midnight shift), Dennis Parker (Like an Eagle), Parliament (Flashlight) and Kiss (I was made for loving you).

But don't think that this is another retro disco project! The aim was to show that these songs can be translated into something modern, up – to – date sounding. In fact these songs from the legendary Casablanca label have been a huge influence on many of today's relevant electronic producers. Casablanca was the label that made Giorgio Moroder’s Munich Disco Sound a worldwide trademark. And as Gomma records has been founded in Munich by Mathias „Munk“ Modica of course there is a strong conection between Gomma, Moroder and many of the artists on Casablanca. As also the DFA bunch always relays to Moroder and the Casablanca sound and Nancy Whang and James Murphy were featured on Munk's first single Kick Out the chairs! (Gomma 2005) this EP with Nancy Whang on Gomma in 2014 makes perfectly sense.
